Background

As Gott Data evolved and expanded its offerings, it became evident that our existing website no longer effectively conveyed the depth and breadth of our services, workshops, and products. With a strong commitment to our purpose-driven mission and "doing good" initiative, we recognized the need for a website that accurately reflected our identity as a company and showcased our expanded portfolio. To address these challenges, we embarked on a comprehensive redesign of our website, with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and user experience.

Objective

The primary objective of the Gott Data website redesign was to create a dynamic and engaging digital platform that effectively communicates who we are as a company, our mission, and the range of services, training/workshops, and products we offer. Additionally, we aimed to integrate our "doing good" initiative and purpose-driven ethos into the website, highlighting our commitment to social impact and ethical business practices.

Scope

The scope of the project encompassed a complete overhaul of the existing website, from design and content to functionality and user experience. Key components included redefining our brand identity, updating website architecture and navigation, developing new content to reflect our expanded portfolio, and integrating features to showcase our "doing good" initiatives and purpose-driven mission.

Challenges

Several challenges were encountered throughout the website redesign process, including the need to strike a balance between conveying complexity and simplicity in design and messaging, ensuring seamless integration of new features and content, and aligning the website with our people-centered design approach. Additionally, meeting tight deadlines and managing stakeholder expectations posed additional challenges.

Solution

To address these challenges, we adopted a holistic approach that prioritized collaboration, creativity, and attention to detail. Drawing on insights from user research and stakeholder consultations, we redefined our brand identity to better reflect our values and mission. The website was redesigned from scratch, with a focus on intuitive navigation, clear messaging, and visually appealing design elements. New content was developed to showcase our expanded portfolio, with dedicated sections highlighting our services, training, products, and "doing good" initiatives. Throughout the process, we remained true to our people-centered design approach, ensuring that the website was accessible and user-friendly for all visitors.

Delivery

The delivery of the new Gott Data website involved a phased approach, with regular checkpoints and feedback loops to ensure alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations. Following thorough testing and quality assurance procedures, the website was launched to the public, accompanied by targeted marketing efforts to drive traffic and engagement. Continuous monitoring and optimization efforts were implemented post-launch to enhance performance and address any emerging needs.

Impact

The impact of the website redesign has been transformative, both internally and externally. Externally, the new website has provided visitors with a more comprehensive understanding of who we are as a company, our mission, and the range of services, training, and products we offer. It has also served as a platform for showcasing our "doing gott" initiatives and purpose-driven ethos, strengthening our reputation as a socially responsible organization. Internally, the website has facilitated greater alignment and cohesion across teams, fostering a shared sense of purpose and pride in our collective achievements. Overall, the website redesign has positioned Gott Data for continued growth and success, enabling us to better serve our clients, partners, and communities.

Application

Building a bespoke website is a conscious choice. In our case, our needs, branding, and our in-house technical expertise made it a no-brainer for us to build our own bespoke website and deploy it in a matter of weeks. While web CMS and web-dev tools give you flexibility at low initial cost to rapidly deploy websites, over the long-term it may not be the best option as developers always have to find work-arounds for many needs as each CMS tool is built for general usage & does not address your specific needs.

Here are some things we have gained from our bespoke website

Increased conversions & decreased Google ads spending, because of our unmatched SEM & SEO optimization.

Increased conversions due to our call-to-actions. Yes, we can deploy them where we want and how we want! And, our website visitors love them.

Having advanced features without needing multiple templates - a booking engine for our workshops, product display pages, e-commerce tools, portfolio pages. No work- arounds needed for limitations posed by ready-to-use templates.

Record time to deploy and low maintenance: We deployed our website starting from scratch to finish in three weeks! And, we have only needed to spend 32 minutes since our launch on technical maintenance. It’s really a dream!
